MoMoCo Members

I wanted to thank all of those that came out on Monday November  16th, sorry for the delay in getting this message out, but things have been busy and then we ran into the Thanksgiving holiday. Hopefully everyone had their fill of turkey and pie this past weekend. We had another successful event in November, with about 50 attendees, discussing Location Services. Thanks again to those speakers Jens and Lars at Storm Peak Innovations, David Hose at Ideas and Plans, Ted Babitz at MapQuest, Matt Galligan at SimpleGEO, and Wayne Guerra at Healthagen for taking the time to talk with the MoMoCo audience.

This month’s meeting topic will be Mobile Marketing, but we are taking a poll of the members of MoMoCo to see what we should discuss in January. That poll was posted last week and will continue through this Friday. I encourage you all to vote for your topic of interest. We will continue to look to the members in the future about the direction of Mobile Monday here in Colorado. Please also explore the MoMoCo website (www.mobilemondayco.com) where you can view additional information and topics for the group, including some jobs that have been posted. We are now seeing members sign-up for the LinkedIn group that has been created, called Mobile Monday Colorado. This group is a great way for the members to communicate with one another and get updates of discussions taking place within the community. The best thing is that most of you are already using LinkedIn today, so all you have to do is sign-up for the group.

I am proud to say that we are still growing at an incredible rate, currently the group is at 125 members, many new members saying that the reason they signed-up was to learn more about the local mobile presence and to network .  I ask that you continue to spread the word so we can create the best possible community for the local mobile sector, and remember our mission is to educate, inspire, and create meaningful business relationships.

As I mentioned earlier, this month’s meeting topic will be Mobile Marketing, and we have another great agenda that is sure to be a hit. The meeting will be a bit different from those in the past. First, the meeting will be at the Wolf Law Building on the CU campus and not at the TechStars offices like the past events. Second, we are inviting companies not involved with MoMoCo such as interactive agencies and brands that can benefit from this discussion, these attendees will create opportunities to spawn new relationships with some of the local MoMoCo members that will be in attendance, and hopefully create some business as well. Finally, we have sponsors for this event which we really appreciate, including ATLAS Institute at CU, Silicon Flatirons, MBmobile, and CyberAge Books the publisher of “The Mobile Marketing Handbook” written by Kim Dushinski, we could not have put this event together without them. Finally, this is an important event for MoMoCo to show the strength of the companies we have as members, so please reach out to those agencies, brands, and/or potential MoMoCo members to attend. It might make a great Christmas gift to a company in attendance!

December Speakers:

*Laura Marriott, Former President, Mobile Marketing Association

*Joel Morrow, Managing Partner, Mobile Fusion; Former Director of Mobile Marketing, Western Union

*Steve Richter, CEO, MBmobile

*Michael Pastko, President, Coupious

*Kim Dushinski will also be available to discuss her book “The Mobile Marketing Handbook”, which will also be available for purchase.

I hope to see you all there for another interactive meeting and plenty of networking! Please feel free to contact me with any questions and/or suggestions.

Cheers!
Jason Stout
