MoMoCo
Members
Sorry
for getting this month’s message out so late after the May meeting. I
want to thank the speakers again- Martin May, Brightkite, Steve Briggs, SHUB,
and John Kanarowski, Zerista- for taking the time to present their companies. Mobile
social networking is a very interesting and hot space right now, but more importantly
money making business models are starting to develop, such as with Starbucks
and Brightkite. I am excited to see how things evolve in this space during the
rest of 2010, including what the next “it” thing will be.
As
most of you know, I always preach the three pillars of MoMoCo- Educate,
Inspire, and Create Meaningful Business Relationships- and we continue to
strive to meet all three objectives for you on a regular basis. After just
completing our 8th meeting, I am really starting to see meaningful progress in
helping to develop some meaningful business relationships for folks in MoMoCo. While
it makes me proud to see this happen, you all should be congratulated for
making the time to create these important ties to the local mobile community.
If you have established a significant partnership, developed a revenue
generating opportunity, or even found a job through your involvement with
MoMoCo we would really love to hear about it. We promise to keep any private
information private, but would really like to tell others what is happening
here!
I
am also very happy to tell you that a MoMoCo member company has been accepted
into the Boulder TechStars program. Shane Taylor and Liam Davis-Mead from ScriptPadRX,
a mobile ePrescription company. They are two really smart guys with a very
interesting product, and a wide open market to capitalize on. Please help me in
congratulating them when you see them at MoMoCo or around town!
Finally,
the June 14th meeting agenda is just about finalized and we will post it very
shortly. The topic will be focused on the “Mobile Enterprise”. With
the majority of workers in North America being away from their office more than
half of the work day, this market has significant promise to grow quickly. I
hope to see you all there for what is sure to be some great presentations and
conversation!
Cheers!
